PGA Tour 2K23 Career Mode Allows Players to Defect to Terrorist Cell Networks

LOS ANGELES - PGA Tour 2K23, the latest edition of the popular golf video game franchise, was announced in a series of tweets Monday, and will reportedly include the option to “defect to outside terrorist cell networks” in its infamous career mode.

The game mode will still follow its traditional format of playing amateur events while climbing up the pro circuit, but instead of opting to go professional and qualify for the FedEx Cup, players will now have the option to join “terrorist cells networks like ISIS, the Irish Republican Army or LIV Golf” according to PGA officials.

“We recognize the current landscape of the golf and where players’ interests may lie, so when we were working with 2K to develop this year’s release, we wanted to make sure it reflected that,” Jay Monahan, commissioner of the PGA Tour said in a prepared statement. “Whether a player wants to play in prestigious tournaments around the country against the best golfers in the world or join the ranks of those who hold massive executions and commit assaults on basic human rights, we respect that decision. Now the fans will be able to make that decision for themselves.”

Although additional details about the career mode were minor, players will reportedly also have the opportunity to address the media about their decision, bringing an element of dialogue that the game has never seen before.

“I am very excited about the dialogue and quest lines we’re bringing into this year’s game,” 2K Game Studio President David Ismailer added. “Step into the shoes of a modern-day professional golfer like you’ve never done before. Face your darkest fears and answer the age-old question once and for all…what amount of money will it take to get you to completely abandon your morals?”

As far as who will grace the cover of the latest edition of PGA Tour 2K, Ismailer remains tight-lipped, but added that “it’s definitely not Phil Mickelson.”
